Hunting & Gathering
Hunting
Tracking
The first two steps are combined into a single roll and the results are on the table below.
You must have proficiency in Wisdom (Survival) or Dexterity (Stealth) to track animals. If you are proficient in both you can roll 2d20 and choose the result you would like.
Tracking
Taking Your Shot
So you've successfully tracked an animal now you need to capture or kill it. First you decide if you want to kill or capture the animal or if you want to disengage and walk away. To kill or capture, you roll a Wisdom (Survival) or Dexterity (Stealth) check agains the DC on the table below.
If you pass the DC check you successfully kill or capture the animal. If you fail the DC check the animal gets away. If you fail by 5 or more then the animal attacks and damages you as it escapes. If you roll a natural 1 you take double the damage.
Capture or Kill
Harvesting
After killing an animal you can harvest it's meat and hide. Use the charts below to determine how much meat and quality of the hide you are able to harvest.
Harvesting
Gathering
Plants & Herbs
Gathering plants and naturally occuring objects takes time. You must be proficient in either Intelligence (Nature) or Wisdom (Survival) to gather plants. As with hunting, first you must find what you are looking for and then gather it. Use the charts below to determine what you find and how much. Each attempt takes 4 hours to complete.
Gathering Plants
Æther Ore
For æther ore you must be proficient in Intelligence (Arcana), be an Ore Adept, or have the Ore Sense feat. The amount you are able to gather is determined by a roll against the DC on the table below. You roll your Intelligence (Arcana) against the DC and gather an amount equal to ½ of your roll in excess of the DC rounded up. If you roll under the DC, you were unable to extract the ore and get nothing. If you are have two of the three requirements (proficiency in Intelligence (Arcana), a level in Ore Adept, Ore Sense feat) you can roll with advantage.
At the DM's discretion the DC may be altered or no ore may be available at all depending on circumstances such as location, weather, and more.
