  • Great wyrms tear through planar boundaries and establish dominion over the northern continent. Mortal kingdoms tremble as the balance of power shatters.
  • United dragons and their servitor armies sweep across the northern realms. Human kingdoms collapse or submit, their rulers made vassals or slaves.
  • Some humans and other humanoids strike bargains with the dragons becoming the first dragon cults.
  • The last great human bastion, Alathel, falls to the dragons. Survivors flee across the Strait of Stones, increasing the tensions in Asiel as populations of refugees sore.
  • Refugees abandon the war torn Alathel heading for Asiel in hopes of escaping the death and destruction.
  • Dragons, not satisfied with conquering the north, set their sites on Asiel.

Age of Titans

83 BE to 1 BE
  • Astral titans stride into Ærethia, chasing their ancient foes, the dragons. To mortals they appear as near-divine beings.
  • The capital city of the human kingdoms, Morelath was razed in an enormous battle between Coji and Dragons.
  • As the human kingdoms fall to the dragons, doomsday cults spread preaching that the world will end in fire.
  • The theocratic city of Hæven is founded.
  • The last unified mortal resistance, a desperate alliance of humans, elves, dwarves, and others, makes its stand in the towering cliffs of the Gloomspires.

Year of Embers

The Year of Embers

  • The defining cataclysm. Across both continents, the skies burn red, cities turn to ash, and countless mortals are slain. Dragons vanish into the inferno some destroyed, others fleeing. The event scars both continents and severs much of their shared history.

After the Embers

1 AE to 3322 AE

The Ashen Age

1 AE to 250 AE
  • Using powerful magics researched while researching the magic used on The Day of Embers, mages sever the connections between this plane and all others.
  • The surviving dragons are hunted to extinction. Legends say a coalition of mortals wielded weapons of unimaginable power aided the Coji to finish the work. From then onward, dragons are myths, their bones and relics scattered.
  • A plague spreads among the survivors remaining in Alathel killing thousands of scavengers and settlers alike.
  • The Cloud Elves strike back at the hordes of undead using magic they have developed known as the Blurring.
  • The last surviving Coji dies of old age. The last sighting marks the end of an age of divine-scale struggle. Mortals, for the first time in memory, rule their own fate.

Age of Reclamation

251 AE to 900 AE
  • Survivors finish rebuilding the walls of the capital city of Alathel, Eryndræl atop the ruins of Tellara. Cloud Elves make up the majority of those survivors.
  • Dragon cults begin a war on the emerging settlements of Alathel. Attempts to resurrect dragons end in disaster.
  • The Cloud Elves ascend to rulership, cementing their dominance over the fractured kingdoms of the north and beging extending their influence across the Strait of Stones into Asiel.
