Unfortunately, their efforts were for naught as the hours of walking the rough mountain ground rewarded them with the crevasse becoming more of a tunnel, the opening to the surface closing and disappearing into the earth. They had to retrace their steps a little bit to get to the nearest climb down and then continued their journey within it. Spending some time traversing the crevasse turned tunnel/cave until a bend appears, large rocks and a destroyed cart lie in the path but then Dheir hears the faint sound of bird chirping. She jumps at the sounds thinking her bird-sound-making ball was there, parkouring over the rocks and debris only to find an actual bird nest. She informed the group just as she noticed another of-shoot cave hidden behind the rocks and slipped down to investigate it. Cassian heard of the nest and saw a bird, getting excited he cast the *Animal Messenger* spell with more power than normal, choosing between two messages of importance, he sent a message to Brenay of the Druids at Star's Light of the giant-kin making their way for a potential way home to the far far north. Hoping he survives the coming days to send another, especially after Saxon immediately berates him as they notice chicks in the nest, now without a parent. They continue to have their spat as Dheir meets the Deathling group within the cavern. She leaves and grabs Xedran for translating, Cassian feels a mixture of emotions as he follows, with Saxon informing him of the parental duties he now has to assist them with as they carefully take the bird chicks in their arms and bringing them along, convinced they won't survive with how far away the parent will be going. The Deathling Exiles brought the group to one of their elder's homes, traversing the very large cavern filled with small buildings carved into/from the earth. They seemed excited to meet outsiders, especially a Sapien such as Cassian, proof some of the teachings of their church aren't as true as the church wants the populace to believe. The group dined with the elder and other Exiles, where the Exiles answered some of the party's questions and then requested the group go with them to Haeven so they could rescue more of their people in a \"stealth\" mission. The party realized it was likely their best choice for getting into the city and locating the artifact piece hidden away within. Their biggest hurdle would be dealing with any of the clergy, potentially even SheeShaa. a supposedly immortal Deathling at the head of the church (the group recognized the name as one mentioned in the memories from the ruins in the swamp near Kuridu). The party agreed, requesting some form of rest so they could be at their best for the infiltration. They left with the exiles as they warned of another elder within the community against this idea and hoping to get out before they hear of their arrival. They then begin to walk for many more hours through a tunnel system, coming to a stop after time seems to have lost all meaning in the imposing darkness. There they began their rest so they would be at full power for the events to come..."
