The party took a quick minute to catch their breath as the remaining Kua-Toa and the Tree with a corpse seemingly part of its trunk that they seemed to worship made their way towards the party. Cassian cast a Lesser Restoration on Xedran to purge to poison from his system as Dheir, Saxon+Kit, and Haize started to shifting their positions to face the coming onslaught. The Kua-Toa and their empowered Corpse Tree did much to harm the party, slinging spells and darts, whipped by roots and necrosis. The party could only respond in kind, leading to the creatures falling to their might.

Once the Kua-Toa were killed and the Corpse Tree incapacitated, the party searched the area, collecting a variety of objects from a different corpse and chest that were in the small pond that surrounded the Corpse Tree. The party decided to rest for the night before returning to Destra with what they've found here and at the small camp prior. Cassian decided the Corpse Tree was an unnatural corruption that could not stand, so in the morning he used his druidic magics and threw a spark of flame at the base of the tree. It caught fire immediately and quickly became an inferno that threatened nearby trees beyond the small pond it was on. Cassian used a Water Wall spell to protect the rest of the forest from the rotted bonfire before them.

With that done, the party returned to Destra and then the Jackal's Head, informing Tuko of the developments. Tuko informed them that the tavern seemed to become haunted in the last day or so, and thought that this was the likely result of their investigation. He thanked the party as they left to go find the city's new council to discuss a reward….

(Listen to Ghost by Demi Lovato for a song about Tuko's love)",
