Before them, the great tower reaching into the rock above them, and between it and them a pedestal that a puzzle box rested on waited. The group investigated and solved the ancient riddle that contained a key for the tower. They unlocked the door and revealed the empty tower before them, a single stair wrapped around the inner wall leading to another floor high above them.

They proceeded to climb the stairs until they reached the very top, where they saw a small metallic looking object suspended above the floor. Just as they reached it, Cassian heard down below the skittering of Cleft Born hatchlings beginning to enter the entrance room. He informed the others things were making their way in as he cast out a Cone of Cold spell, getting some of the creatures but mostly letting himself be open to them attacking him as the hatchlings quickly climbed the walls to attack their aggressor.

A fight ensued as the creatures surrounded him and his allies made their way over to help. The combat was swift but some of them were hurting by the end of it. They collected the artifact, the Silver Sever, and as soon as Saxon touched it, they received a vision of Grestia on a boat in the ocean, taking the Copper Shield from someone that Saxon saw through the eyes of. They informed the group of this but the party had no real way to act on the information currently (though it does bring up questions about what occurred between Kuridu and Destra after the attack on Acera's Temple last month).

The party decided to take a rest for the night in the large cavern they met Nyssius in, before electing to explore one of the side paths they hadn't been to yet. This led them to finding some armor for Saxon and finding a split path, a Path of Truth with many phrases in just as many alcoves along it, and a Path of Defense with one phrase inscribed in the wall at the end. The party began to puzzle over these writings, unsure what this puzzle could uncover….
}
