There, Cassian proposed using his Wind Walk spell to bring them to Kuridu, avoiding an area that he heard about (not informing them of the misadventure Dheir and Cass had two days prior per her request). The party agreed and after asking Tuko to watch over the house and the three baby birds, they made their way outside the gates and Cass transformed them (and Saxon's Menagerie) into wisps of cloud. They flew off towards Kuridu, avoiding the Weavers and landing a few hundred feet away from the gates of the city.

They were greeted with workers actually building up the wall known as Mersel's Folly, new banners hanging from the gates, and guards in new uniforms. As they wandered the streets (planning to go to Flest to ask him what is going on), they noticed many of the shops had help wanted signs, the streets seemingly dirtier than before, and a number of people wearing weaponry in the open and some getting weapon training in Ember Park.

While making their way to Flest, Saxon saw a pair of people almost coming to blows due to a disagreement. The Titan managed to convince them through intimidation it wasn't worth it to fight each other and they went their separate ways. Eventually the party found Flest's residence and knocked on the door. Surprisingly he opened the door himself and inviting them in.

When they asked what was going on, he informed them that the town and many others along the coast have declared independence from Alathel due to the death of the King and an apparent war brewing to the north. Many of the citizens are helping to build the wall up as it is the highest paying job in town now. The party asked some more questions about the turn of events and Cassian paid the money owed by the party (previously given to him by Dheir and Saxon). Flest took it and then handed it back, asking them to come on a business trip with him as protection from any issues he may encounter in Alathel.

The party agreed and it was decided they would sail in the morning. They then went their separate ways for the evening. Learning everything in town was suddenly much more expensive in the process. Dheir attempted to get into a fight at the local fight club (denied). Haize (unbeknownst to the party) had dealings with the local thieves guild. Cassian wandered the streets, eventually noticing someone that looked almost exactly like Drick. He followed the person, but was not able to catch up to them (he ended up at the door to the thieves guild but was unaware that's what was before him).

Eventually they all found rest for the night in preparation for the coming voyage across the Strait of Stones.
