They found themselves in the wilds as strange distortions in the air seemed to hover around them. They quickly moved out, accidently touching one of the distortions, getting hurt by the contact. They found that near these things, magic seemed to be drained from the area. Luckily they didn't have to suffer much there and made it out. Dheir of course was a little pissed at Cassian for getting them into this situation (and Cass understood that). Since they were still closer to Destra than Kuridu, they decided to head back. Cass shifted his form into that of a Riding Horse and gave Dheir a ride part of the way to Destra before deciding they couldn't push farther and camped out for the night.

Meanwhile the other three were drunk, very drunk. Too drunk to notice anything, including that two of their number weren't there. The only things they did notice were their glasses being empty and that apparently something was going down in Kuridu. What was going on? They couldn't tell you, they were too busy guzzling down mug after mug of ale.

In the morning, Cassian shifted back into the Horse and let Dheir ride him back to Destra. He returned to normal shape when they were close to the town, and she made him swear never to tell anyone about this misadventure, which he agreed because it was clear she was angry and he didn't want to be on her bad side. They entered town and found the rest of the group drinking again after waking up hungover. Dheir joined them as Cass went and asked around about the distortions they saw, learning they were called Weavers and seemed to appear around wild or stagnant parts of the Fractured Weave. Many think the Weavers absorb magic in highly concentrated areas and slowly diffuse them into locations the Weave is weak in, eventually repairing the damage done to it thousands of years ago.

Now four of the party were drinking wildly, and Cassian was feeling underappreciated by them. In perhaps one of his lowest moments, he turned himself into a cat and entered the bar. The four definitely enjoyed the CassCat's company more than they likely would have enjoyed Cass himself being there.

The next morning, the party were mostly hungover but Cassian cooked them breakfast anyway so they could prepare to continue their journey….
}
