Cassian kept his eye out for any kind of flying animal in the hopes to pass a message to his people. The journey up the slopes was long and taxing, the transition to a rougher terrain and rising altitude being more difficult than imagined, ever for those that were more used to mountainous regions. They spent the day hiking up, hoping to find something that looks like the places shown in the map Dheir held from the dead Deathling. As the sun slipped beneath the peaks of the mountains beyond them, they started looking for a camp, Dheir first suggested a rather poor place for a camp, but after some disagreements they moved to a different location, finding a small ruin next to tall cliffs. They all settled in for the night, each having their time at a watch. On Dheir's watch, she noticed a shadow move at the top of one of the cliffs above them. Nothing else happened but she informed the next person, but no one else saw anything that night. When the party awoke for the morning of the 20th of Istenarum, she found her ball toy that made bird chirping noises was gone. No one in the party admitted to seeing anything or stealing it themselves, so they assumed someone must have slipped in fairly stealthily last night. Cassian used Misty Step to get to the top of the cliff the shadow was seen at, though was unable to find any tracks of passerby, he came up with a different approach. Taking a handful of soil, mixing in a little water to wet it, and infusing it with magic as he rubbed it across his throat from behind one ear all the way to the other, laying on the ground before a small tuft of grass, and completing the incantation to cast Speak with Plants. He asked the small flora if anyone passed by here recently, and it informed him something small had, heading along the cliff further up the mountains along the crevasse that led away from the camp they set up. Cass asked a few more questions before the spell's power faded, his allies hearing only Cass's contributions to the conversation began to question the druid's sanity. He called down to them from above, informing them of what he learned and suggested they follow the crevasse to find the thief, getting Saxon to throw his stuff up so he wouldn't have to use up as much energy. Cass traveled above them keeping his eyes out for trouble while the other 3 traveled below, the walls looming above them. They went for a few hours like this until they found a spot with some grooves to climb, the below group began making their way up as Cass cast Speak with Plants (muddy throat and all again) to ask a nearby tuft of grass if it knew anything. The party watched in confusion as Cass seemed to have a onesided conversation with grass that barely seemed to be holding on in this rough soil. When he was done, he told them he learned the creature climbed down into the crevasse and never came back up here, suggesting whatever stole the bird ball climbed down, went to the camp, and then went further into the mountains. Cass suggested they stay above the crevasse to have potential sight into whatever they are walking into. They all agreed and began marching onward to whoever stole Dheir's bird ball, then hopefully onward on their mission."
